Japanese manga artist born in Yao, Osaka. He debuted professionally in 1978 and created Dash Kappei, a popular sports comedy series. His most acclaimed work is F, a Formula One racing manga serialized in Big Comic Spirits from 1986 to 1992 across 28 volumes. F won the 1991 Shogakukan Manga Award for general manga and is regarded as an influential early series focused on Formula One racing.
