Matt Baker was an American comic book artist active from the mid-1940s through the 1950s, best known for his work on Phantom Lady for Fox Feature Syndicate from 1947 to 1949, drawn in a glamorous, illustrative style. He also penciled It Rhymes with Lust for St. John Publications in 1950, an early full-length picture novel in comics form. He was one of the first African American artists to reach prominence in mainstream comics and was inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame in 2009.
