Biography
George Herriman was an American cartoonist born in New Orleans in 1880 who spent most of his career creating newspaper comic strips. He is best known for Krazy Kat, which ran from 1913 until his death in 1944 and is widely considered among the finest comic strips ever produced. The Comics Journal ranked it first on its list of the greatest comics of the twentieth century.
