Biography
E. C. Segar was an American cartoonist best known as the creator of Popeye, introduced in his newspaper strip Thimble Theatre in 1929. Thimble Theatre debuted in 1919 for King Features Syndicate and grew into one of the most popular strips of its era. Segar is a member of the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.
