American comic book writer, editor, and artist (1944-2020) best known as co-creator of E-Man with artist Joe Staton at Charlton Comics in 1973. As Charlton's assistant editor under George Wildman, he scripted over 200 horror and fantasy stories and mentored young artists including John Byrne and Mike Zeck. He later edited for Warren Publishing and DC Comics and wrote for Disney and Marvel Films animation. A two-time Ray Bradbury Award winner.
