Jim Hoke, a retired pathologist, has spent six months unable to prove that his daughter Wendy was taken by a hulking creature he glimpsed at her window. With the case declared cold and Jim himself a suspect, he begins his own investigation. Connecting with other parents who have lost children to the same entity — a cryptid they call the Floating Man — he finally has a name and a direction for his search.
