Alan Scott: The Green Lantern is a six-issue miniseries written by Tim Sheridan with art by Cian Tormey, published in 2023 and 2024 as part of the Dawn of DC initiative. It is the Golden Age Green Lantern's first solo title in decades. The story opens in the 1930s, when closeted military engineer Alan Scott and his lover Johnny Ladd take part in a secret mission to study a mysterious red flame at sea, a mission that goes wrong and seemingly kills Ladd. In the present, a string of murders whose victims are both burned and drowned, and all connected to Alan, forces the hero to confront his hidden past. Aided by the Spectre, the Flash, and the Justice Society, Scott hunts an impostor calling himself the Red Lantern while reckoning with his own history. The series recontextualizes the origin of DC's first Green Lantern through the lens of his identity as a gay man.
