Venom: Separation Anxiety (2024)
Venom: Separation Anxiety is a five-issue Marvel limited series from 2024 revisiting Eddie Brock's earliest days as Venom. Writer David Michelinie, who co-created the character in the early 1990s, reunites with Eddie and Venom alongside artist Gerardo Sandoval for a throwback take on the symbiote.
Eddie faces Zebediah Killgrave, the Purple Man, whose reality-altering powers slowly strip away pieces of the Venom symbiote with every contact. As Killgrave grows stronger, Venom grows weaker, pushing Eddie to lean on old allies and enemies alike, including the Fantastic Four and the Rhino.
The miniseries keeps its plotting self contained across five chapters, aiming for a classic, stripped-down Venom adventure rather than a piece of a larger crossover.
