Pluto (2004)
Pluto reimagines Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy story arc 'The Greatest Robot on Earth' as a murder mystery. Europol detective Gesicht, himself an advanced robot, investigates a killer targeting the world's most powerful robots and the humans who built them. Naoki Urasawa uses the case to probe memory, hatred, and the aftermath of a robot-fought war, reframing Tezuka's material in a darker register.
