Jack Coates runs a private security firm that takes on cases most people would refuse. His edge is an unusual and painful psychic talent: direct access to the darkest corners of a person's mind, every secret and every sin laid bare.

That ability has made him effective, but it has also made him reckless. When Coates begins placing trust in the wrong people, the line between weapon and target starts to blur.
