Resident Evil (1998)
Resident Evil is a five issue anthology magazine published by Image Comics under the WildStorm banner, running from March 1998 to February 1999. It was created as an official licensed tie-in to Capcom's Resident Evil video game franchise, timed around the release of Resident Evil 2.
Each issue packages several short comic stories rather than one continuous plot. The stories draw on the established game cast, including Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, and Albert Wesker, alongside antagonists like William Birkin and the Umbrella Corporation.
Writers Ted Adams and Kris Oprisko anchored most issues, and Oprisko also worked as editor across the run. Pencil work came from a rotating group of artists including Lee Bermejo, Carlos D'Anda, Ryan Odagawa, and Rafael Kayanan, with Jim Lee providing at least one issue's cover.
Issues also included supplemental material, such as an interview with Resident Evil game director Shinji Mikami, mixed in with the anthology's short stories.
