Ultimate Comics Spider-Man (2011) introduced Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man of the Ultimate Universe following Peter Parker's death. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, Miles is a teenager of Black and Puerto Rican heritage who gains spider-powers plus unique abilities including camouflage and venom blasts.
The series centers on Miles learning to be a hero while navigating high school, family expectations, and the weight of Peter Parker's legacy. Supporting characters include his best friend Ganke Lee, his parents Jefferson and Rio, and his uncle Aaron as the Prowler.
Miles became one of Marvel's most popular modern characters, appearing in animation, video games, and eventually joining the main Marvel Universe.
