The storyline was written by various authors, including Tom DeFalco, J.M. DeMatteis, and David Michelinie, with art by Mark Bagley, Sal Buscema, and others. The plot centers around the villain Carnage, who escapes from the Ravencroft Institute and initiates a violent rampage across New York City. Carnage assembles a team of supervillains, including Shriek, Demogoblin, Carrion, and Doppelganger, to spread chaos and destruction.
