XP (experience points) is earned when your contributions to the VerseDB database are approved. The amount of XP you earn depends on the type of contribution and any applicable bonuses.
Base XP Values
| Action | XP Earned |
|---|---|
| Submit an edit | 10 XP |
| Edit gets approved | 25 XP |
Bonus XP
You can earn bonus XP for special contributions:
| Bonus Type | Extra XP |
|---|---|
| First edit ever | +50 XP |
| First edit in a new category | +30 XP |
Example
Your very first contribution could earn: 10 (submission) + 25 (approval) + 50 (first edit) + 30 (first category) = **115 XP**
How XP Accumulates
- You earn 10 XP just for submitting an edit (even before it's reviewed)
- When your edit is approved, you earn an additional 25 XP
- Bonus XP is added automatically when applicable
- Rejected edits don't lose the submission XP you already earned
