The Authority
The Authority is a Wildstorm superhero team created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch in 1999. Formed from survivors of the earlier team Stormwatch, they operate as a proactive, no-compromise force that confronts world-threatening menaces on their own terms. Led at first by Jenny Sparks, the team is known for its widescreen, cinematic action and its willingness to challenge governments and political power. Its core lineup includes Apollo, Midnighter, Jack Hawksmoor, Swift, and the Engineer.
