Dan Garret is the original Blue Beetle, a crimefighter who began as a police officer and later worked with the American Secret Service. He wore a bulletproof chainmail suit and gained enhanced strength and resilience from a special serum called Vitamin 2X, which allowed him to combat criminals more effectively.
