Mr. Freeze

Victor Fries is Mr. Freeze, a DC villain who first appeared in Batman #121 in 1959. A former cryogenics scientist, Fries was mutated in a laboratory accident that left his body unable to survive at temperatures above freezing. He wears a cryogenic suit at all times and wields a freeze gun capable of encasing targets in ice. In most portrayals, his crimes are driven by his effort to find a cure for his terminally ill wife Nora, making him one of comics' most sympathetic antagonists. He was originally introduced as Mr. Zero.
