Norville Rogers, known as Shaggy, is a cowardly, food-loving member of Mystery Inc. and the best friend of his Great Dane Scooby-Doo, first appearing on September 13, 1969 in the premiere episode of the CBS animated series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, created by Hanna-Barbera. A lanky young man who prefers eating and avoiding danger to solving mysteries, he is one of the franchise's most recognizable characters and was voiced by Casey Kasem in the original series. He has appeared across every Scooby-Doo animated series, comic series, and film.
