Agent X-9
CharacterDescription
Phil Corrigan is a federal secret agent who operates under the code name X-9. Created by Dashiell Hammett and artist Alex Raymond for King Features Syndicate, the strip debuted in January 1934 as one of the earliest spy-themed American newspaper comics. Corrigan acquired his full name in the 1940s and continued investigating crime and espionage threats across decades of rotating creative teams, including a notable run by writer Archie Goodwin and artist Al Williamson from 1967 to 1980.
