Aoyama debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1987 and is best known as the creator of Case Closed (Detective Conan), a mystery series that began in 1994 and remains one of the longest-running in Shonen Jump history. His combined works have sold over 250 million copies, and his hometown features a museum dedicated to his career.
