Biography

Japanese manga artist and character designer born in Aichi Prefecture in 1955. Toriyama debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1978 and earned wide recognition for Dr. Slump before launching Dragon Ball in 1984, one of the best-selling manga series with over 260 million copies sold. He also designed characters for the Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger video games. He died in March 2024.
