Biography
Italian comics creator born in Rimini in 1927, best known for Corto Maltese, an adventure series featuring a wandering sailor against backdrops rooted in real historical events spanning colonial Africa and the World Wars. Pratt worked in Argentina in the 1950s before achieving wide European recognition. Corto Maltese was translated into fifteen languages. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2005.
