Tetsuo Hara is a Japanese manga artist born in Tokyo in 1961. He trained as an assistant and studied at Gekiga Sonjuku, the manga school founded by Kazuo Koike. Hara achieved broad recognition in 1983 with Fist of the North Star, co-created with writer Buronson, which ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump through 1988 and sold over 100 million copies. He later serialized Keiji and Fist of the Blue Sky, and was among the founders of the manga publisher Coamix.
