Howard Sherman
American Golden Age comic artist (1909-1993) at DC Comics through the 1940s-50s, and an uncredited ghost artist for Bob Kane. Co-created Doctor Fate with writer Gardner Fox for More Fun Comics #55 (1940) and drew the character's stories through issue #73, giving the series its gloomy, serial-inspired atmosphere. Also worked on Batman, Vigilante, Congo Bill, Congorilla, and Kit Carson, and created Tommy Tomorrow in 1947. Later moved into educational filmstrips and toy package design.
