Al Feldstein was an American comic book editor, writer, and artist most closely associated with EC Comics, where he worked from 1948 to 1956. He edited and wrote for the company's horror and suspense titles, including Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror, and created the Crypt-Keeper character. He then became editor of Mad magazine, a role he held from 1956 until his retirement in 1984.
