Julia Carpenter is a Marvel Comics character who became the second person to use the name Spider-Woman, first appearing in Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #6 in 1984. Given arachnid-based abilities through an unauthorized government experiment, she can project psionic webbing and cling to surfaces. She later adopted the codename Arachne and eventually took on the mantle of Madame Web after the previous holder of that identity.
