Description
Hellboy Junior reimagines Mike Mignola's demonic hero as a small, mischievous imp loose in Hell. Mignola teams with cartoonist Bill Wray and a rotating crew of underground and animation talent, swapping the grim mood of the main Hellboy comics for broad, gross out parody.
The humor spoofs vintage all-ages and Harvey style comics, filling the underworld with oddball misfits and morbid gags. Recurring oddities include Wheezy the Sick Little Witch, the Ginger Beef Boy, and Somnambo the Sleeping Giant.
This Dark Horse volume collects the late 1990s Hellboy Junior material in one book, drawing together the Halloween special, the short companion run, and extra artwork. It sits outside Hellboy canon as a comedic side project aimed at fans of the franchise.
