Dave Stewart

Dave Stewart is an American comic book colorist born in Boise, Idaho. He moved to Portland, Oregon, as a teenager and began his career at Dark Horse Comics in 1994, coloring covers for Hellboy.

Stewart has won ten Eisner Awards for Best Colorist/Coloring (2003, 2005, 2007-2011, 2013, 2015, 2020), holding the Guinness World Record for most wins in the category. He is the primary colorist for nearly all Hellboy Universe comics by Mike Mignola, and his other credits include Daredevil, Captain America, Superman, BPRD, The Goon, Fatale, and Ultimate X-Men. His coloring is recognized for its ability to set mood and atmosphere through restrained, carefully chosen palettes rather than flashy effects.
