Perry White
Description
Perry White is a DC Comics character who first appeared in Superman #7 (1940), though he had previously been established in the Adventures of Superman radio serial. He was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
Perry is the gruff, demanding editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet newspaper in Metropolis. His catchphrase, "Great Caesar's ghost!", and his no-nonsense management style have made him one of the most recognizable supporting characters in the Superman mythos. He employs Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen, and maintains high journalistic standards despite the chaos that regularly surrounds his reporters.
Though he has no superpowers, Perry is portrayed as a principled man who values truth and integrity above all else. He has appeared continuously in Superman comics for over 80 years and is a fixture of virtually every adaptation of the Superman story across television, film, and animation.
