Gus Goose
Description
Gus Goose is a Disney comics character created by Al Taliaferro and Bob Karp. He first appeared in the Donald Duck newspaper strip on May 9, 1938, making him one of the earlier additions to Donald's extended family.
Gus is Donald Duck's lazy, gluttonous cousin who works as a caretaker on Grandma Duck's farm. His defining trait is his enormous appetite, which rivals even that of his more famous relatives. He is good-natured but perpetually sleepy and unmotivated, content to eat and nap rather than do any real work.
Gus has appeared in thousands of Disney comics published internationally. He is a recurring figure in the Duckburg cast, particularly in European Disney comics where the extended Duck family tree receives extensive treatment. His role is typically comedic, providing a contrast to the more driven personalities of Donald and Scrooge McDuck.
