Doctor Thaddeus Bodog Sivana is a DC Comics supervillain created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck, first appearing in Whiz Comics #2 (1940). A bald, diminutive mad scientist, he is the primary archenemy of Shazam (formerly Captain Marvel) and appeared in over half of the original Fawcett Comics stories published between 1939 and 1953. Driven by a genius-level intellect and an obsession with defeating Shazam, Sivana famously coined the phrase "Curses! Foiled again!" and has remained one of DC's most persistent villains.
