Description

Miss Buxley is the civilian secretary to General Halftrack at Camp Swampy in the military comic strip Beetle Bailey. Introduced on November 17, 1971, she quickly became a recurring and controversial figure, frequently depicted in ways that drew reader criticism and led some newspapers to drop relevant strips. Her portrayal evolved after sustained backlash, and in 1997 a storyline had General Halftrack formally apologize to her. She is eventually established as having a romantic interest in Beetle Bailey himself.
