Description

Sergeant Orville P. Snorkel is a recurring character in Mort Walker's Beetle Bailey comic strip, introduced in 1951. A career soldier at Camp Swampy, Sarge serves as Beetle Bailey's commanding officer and frequent nemesis, known for his volatile temper and tendency to physically punish Beetle at any excuse. Despite his short fuse and imposing physique, he has a sentimental side he carefully conceals. His unrestrained love of food is among his most consistent and recognizable traits across decades of the strip.
