Description
Tien Shinhan is a martial artist and one of the strongest human fighters in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga, first appearing in chapter 113 in 1987. Trained by the ruthless Master Shen as a rival to Goku, he enters the Tenkaichi Budokai tournament intending to prove his superiority. Over time he abandons his ruthless discipline and becomes a heroic figure valued for his integrity. He is loosely based on Erlang Shen, a three-eyed deity from the Chinese classic Journey to the West.
