Description

Bananaman is a British comics superhero who first appeared in the anthology comic Nutty published by DC Thomson in 1980. His civilian identity is a young boy named Eric Wimp who gains superhuman strength and the ability to fly by eating bananas, transforming into a muscular costumed adult hero. The character moved to the popular anthology Beano in 1986 following Nutty's closure, and a BBC animated television series brought the character wider recognition in the early 1980s.
