Hero

Hero is the Phantom's white horse and one of his two constant animal companions in the comic strip created by Lee Falk in 1936.

Hero is a stallion of legendary speed and the Phantom's primary mount in the dense jungles of Bengali and beyond. According to various stories, Hero was either won from a prince in a competition or received as a gift from a grateful ruler. Along with the mountain wolf Devil, Hero is far more than a pet, considered one of the Phantom's closest and most trusted companions.

Hero has appeared continuously throughout the Phantom's long publishing history in newspaper strips and international comic books. The character is particularly prominent in the extensive Phantom comics produced in Scandinavia and Australia, where new stories have been published regularly for decades.
