Mike Milligram, once the leader of the Fabulous Killjoys, has spent a long stretch in mental confinement and lost much of who he was. Deprogrammed and back on his feet, he sets out to find the rest of his old team.

The Killjoys are scattered, their memories worked over by an evil pharmaceutical corporation. Mike's road trip to bring them back is the opening of a final fight against the company, its monstrous hitman, and the gangs they once outran. Gerard Way and Shaun Simon return to their Killjoys with artist Leonardo Romero.
