Hammerhead is back in New York after a long absence, and on the pier the Jackal is waiting to whisper in his ear, pointing him at Spider-Man and at Doctor Octopus both. Ock, meanwhile, is fresh out of prison and taking a helicopter to Westchester, where Aunt May has been living in his mansion. At the Baxter Building, the Human Torch pulls the tarp off the finished Spider-Mobile, a buggy that climbs walls and fires webbing, then hands the keys to a man who has never driven a car. Hammerhead's jet-packed crew hits a building, and the new car gets its first run.
