Uncanny X-Men (2018)
Uncanny X-Men launched in 2018 as part of Marvel's Fresh Start initiative, reuniting the mutant team after the events of Extermination. The run opened with the ten-part weekly story X-Men Disassembled, co-written by Ed Brisson, Matthew Rosenberg, and Kelly Thompson, which folded the casts of the recently ended Gold, Blue, and Red titles into a single book and saw most of the team vanish. From issue 11 onward, Rosenberg wrote solo, steering the title into a grim final chapter in which a small band of survivors led by Cyclops and Wolverine fights on as outlaws while the world believes mutantkind is gone. Across 22 issues the series stripped the X-Men down to a desperate resistance, killed off familiar faces, and pushed Cyclops toward harder choices. It concluded in July 2019, closing this era of the franchise and setting the stage for Jonathan Hickman's Krakoan relaunch in House of X and Powers of X.
