Cy-Gor (1999)
A six-issue Spawn universe spin-off from Image Comics, written and created by Rick Veitch with art by Joel Thomas. Cy-Gor is the product of a classified government program called Project Sim that subjected its subject to radical biological and cybernetic experimentation, merging man and gorilla into an unstable weapon. When he breaks free from containment, the amoral Project Sim agents Frankie and Zevon are tasked with recapturing their out-of-control experiment. Stumbling through a chaotic existence guided only by instinct, Cy-Gor crosses paths with Fatima, a Romanian gypsy girl whose pet monkey Gregor appears to share a mysterious bond with him. His rampage through the fringes of society draws him into confrontations with death cults, a mad artist, and the relentless pursuit of the organization that created him. Part animal, part man, and part machine, Cy-Gor occupies the most extreme edge of the Spawn mythology.
