Secret Society of Super-Villains (1976)
Secret Society of Super-Villains is a DC Comics series that ran for 15 issues from 1976 to 1978. The team was founded by Darkseid, operating under the alias "the Director," as a covert alliance to undermine the Justice League and facilitate his conquest of Earth. The roster included Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, Star Sapphire, Sinestro, Mirror Master, Copperhead, Shadow Thief, the Wizard, and Manhunter. After Darkseid's true identity was revealed, leadership shifted among its members, with Grodd emerging as one of the group's most prominent recurring leaders. The series blended internal power struggles among villains with their conflicts against DC's heroes.
