New Gods
The New Gods are a DC Comics pantheon created by Jack Kirby as the heart of his Fourth World saga, debuting in 1971. They hail from twin worlds, the idyllic New Genesis ruled by Highfather and the hellish Apokolips ruled by the tyrant Darkseid. Central figures include Orion, Mister Miracle, and Big Barda, caught in an ongoing cosmic conflict between the two planets. Kirby's mythology introduced concepts and characters that became foundational to the DC Universe.
