Kent Nelson
CharacterDescription
Kent Nelson is the original Doctor Fate, one of DC's most powerful sorcerers and a founding member of the Justice Society of America. As a child, he accompanied his archaeologist father to Mesopotamia and inadvertently released the ancient Lord of Order known as Nabu, causing his father's death in the process. Nabu took Kent as an apprentice and trained him in the mystic arts over many years. As Doctor Fate, Kent wields the Helmet of Fate, the Cloak of Destiny, and the Amulet of Anubis. He first appeared in More Fun Comics #55 in 1940.
