Ted Knight
CharacterDescription
Theodore Henry Knight is a DC Comics Golden Age hero who took the identity of Starman, a founding member of the Justice Society of America. An astronomer and inventor from Opal City, he developed the Gravity Rod, later refined into the Cosmic Rod, which draws on residual cosmic energies to enable flight, project energy beams, and generate force fields. His scientific genius proved as valuable to the JSA as his fieldwork. Created by Gardner Fox and Jack Burnley, he first appeared in Adventure Comics #61 in 1941.
