Description

Cookie (Cornelius Jowls) is the mess sergeant in Mort Walker's long-running military humor comic strip Beetle Bailey. Stationed at Camp Swampy's kitchen, he produces wildly unappetizing meals that are a fixture of the strip's humor. Known for smoking while preparing food and ignoring basic sanitation, his disaster-prone cooking is a source of dread for everyone at the camp. Walker described Cookie as a composite of all the bad army cooks he encountered during his own service.
