Description

Droopy is an anthropomorphic basset hound created by Tex Avery for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, debuting in the 1943 cartoon Dumb-Hounded. Slow-moving and monotone in speech, he consistently outsmarts larger and more aggressive opponents through cleverness and an unshakeable calm. Known as Happy Hound in his earliest comic book appearances in Our Gang Comics, Droopy became one of MGM's most distinctive cartoon characters across animation and comics.
