Benny Burro is a curious, good natured donkey who began as Barney Bear's companion in MGM's animated shorts and became a regular in Dell's funny animal comics. He first appeared in print in Our Gang Comics in the early 1940s.
Silent in the cartoons, Benny talks in the comics, where he headlined his own stories as often as he played second banana to Barney. He turns up throughout the Our Gang and Tom and Jerry titles.
