Thumper
CharacterDescription
Thumper is a young cottontail rabbit and one of Bambi's closest companions, named for his habit of thumping his left hind foot. Adapted from the Friend Hare in Felix Salten's 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods, the character was substantially expanded during production of Disney's 1942 animated film due to his popularity with early audiences. He has appeared in Bambi-related comics published by Dell Comics and others, serving as the story's warmhearted and mischievous sidekick.
