Ignatz Mouse is the brick-throwing antagonist of George Herriman's Krazy Kat, one of the defining strips of early newspaper comics. Cynical and short-tempered, he vents his contempt for the lovestruck Krazy by hurling bricks at the cat's head, missiles Krazy receives as tokens of love.
His campaigns are opposed by Offissa Pupp, who jails him with ritual regularity. The endless triangle of cat, mouse, and dog sustained the strip for three decades.
