American cartoonist and animator born in Los Angeles in 1911. He worked at Warner Bros. from the early 1940s to 1953, animating Looney Tunes films featuring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Foghorn Leghorn. From 1943 he drew comics for Western Publishing, specializing in Disney characters including Chip 'n' Dale and Donald Duck, and later Hanna-Barbera properties such as The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo. He died in 1973.
